The cornerstone of InfoTilt’s success rests on our ability to meet clients’ needs. What sets us apart from our competition is our ability to develop flexible, scaleable solutions for clients quickly and thoroughly.
Review our case studies, below, and compare our approach to traditional models.
Fidelity Investments: Changing Tack to Enhance Competitiveness
Challenge
Traders at Fidelity Investments, the nations’ largest mutual fund company managing more than $8 billion in assets, were being outpaced by the competition: the quote system in use at the equities trading desk was slow and unreliable. Fidelity needed to create an equity quote management system that would provide reliable, real-time market data to the trading desk delivering an enhanced level of detail to traders to give them a competitive edge.
Solution
InfoTilt approached Fidelity Investments with an initial consultation to identify the features that the traders and portfolio managers were looking for in the new equities quote management system. InfoTilt began to modify the initial system requirements and developed an updated design for the system. However, once the traders began to see the possibilities that InfoTilt’s new equities quote management system provided, they wanted to add similar enhanced features to the fixed income division.
Flexibility in action
At InfoTilt, we understand clients might alter a project while it's underway – in fact, we anticipate it. We build the idea of change into our design methodology. Into each project, we develop key components that enable us to redesign an entire system, even after the initial implementation is underway.
Result
InfoTilt project managers estimated that a typical consulting firm, loaded down with bloated management structures and strict, immobile project guidelines, would have required an additional three months to implement Fidelity’s desired changes. For Fidelity, the project timeline was only disrupted by three weeks and their competitive edge was enhanced immensely.
Northwestern Mutual: Developing Novel Solutions to Boost Sales
Challenge
Northwestern Mutual, the nation’s largest provider of life insurance, was using an antiquated data-capturing system. When salespeople in the field entered data incorrectly, entire leads would be lost. Since data is critical to the insurance industry, Northwestern Mutual called on InfoTilt to recapture the lost data and create a better method for future data collection.
Solution
At InfoTilt, we know that fresh ideas lead to innovation that drives technology and business forward. Solutions presented to Northwestern Mutual by programmers would require combing through the data manually to attempt to fix the common errors that were interrupting it – but such a solution would be cumbersome, costly, and might lead to additional errors. InfoTilt recommended a different approach. Utilizing artificial intelligence principles, we devised a statistical analysis of the most common errors in the database and crafted an artificial intelligence rule base to correct those errors based on weights.
Result
InfoTilt’s artificial intelligence approach yielded a 99 percent data input rate into the database, resulting in clean data – and usable leads and information for Northwestern Mutual. A standard text-based approach would have yielded less than 95 percent input rate for the client, resulting in thousands of lost leads.
Wells Fargo/Milwaukee: Creating a Quick Turnaround Strategy to Outpace the Competition
Challenge
As Wells Fargo – a diversified financial services company with more than $500 billion in assets – moved toward investment banking, traders needed to implement the Charles River Trading System [TM] as quickly as possible. Challenged with a very short requirement and design cycle, as well as budget constraints, Wells Fargo turned to InfoTilt to react to the strict timeline and budget guidelines while providing the highest level of secure service.
Solution
InfoTilt, divided the project into multiple phases and presented a fixed price statement of work to Wells Fargo. All key phases of the implementation were completely outlined for the client. However, during the development process in the project, InfoTilt experienced a number of issues that would normally have extended the timeline drastically. Committed to meeting the expectations of its clients, InfoTilt invested 14-hour days to insure that even with the unexpected glitches, the deadline set in the original timeline were met at no extra cost to Wells Fargo.
Result
Wells Fargo met its goals, implementing the Charles River Trading System on time and on budget. Wells Fargo maintained its edge over the competition.
